Okyfest

Hi luvs,

This is probably going to be a long post cause there are a lot of fun stories that came from my experience at THE Oktoberfest.

Trip started out with me waiting at the airport for two friends (two Zetas from my chapter) to meet up with cause we were going to the same hostel, the friend i had originally planned this trip with missed her train to Munich so she was getting in a bit later. So anyways, we traveled to the hostel, it was at this cute campsite and many other hostels were in the same area. We stayed in tents and it came with a matress and a sleeping bag, they were all out of pillows… but that wasnt bad. It was a cute little camp ground that had a main spot for partying and eating. so while waiting for two more people to arrive we drank a lil and started the night out. First, Elle (friend from highschool) came, then Mandy (another Zeta from my chapter) came. Elle and i were staying in our own little tent and the others were in a four person tent so they had another rando guy staying with them.

The quote of that night was “im going with him to listen to flume”. Thanks to Elle, we had a lot of comedic realif during the trip, The things she says are just so freaking funny. Annie had a little friend dancing like a dino behind her all night the first night, then an Aussie did a handstand and the security gaurd said he cant do handstands, then when the gaurd left the Aus said “put up a sign then”. lol. I love Aussies, they are funny af.

The next day we were a bit slow to arrive at the fest but we finally did around 2ish. We had no idea what to expect but none of us expected the fest to be so well established, it was like a state fair but just bigger.

On the way there we were approched by this poor guy who we had noticed at our bus stop cause he didnt have a jacket on but he had gloves and we were like lol what? Well, he asked is he could follow us to Oktoberfest cause he had lost his friends the night before. After talking with him we found out two random people found him in a Mcdonalds and brought him back to their campsite (one we were staying in) and he just stayed in an open tent. Then he told us he lost his phone, so he couldnt get in contact with his friends and that they were staying at an Airbnb and he didnt have the keys or address to get back that night, plus he was incoheirent so he was screwed. Idk how he contacted his friends but he did that next morning and he was on his way to meet back up with his friends and since he was blackout the night before he was so hungover. But the worst thing was that his “friends” said They were at the HB tent and that they might still be there. Legit so rude. We were like what the heck, if my friend was lost i’d make sure to stay in one place cause thats so scary not to have anything with you in a new town wth drunk idiots all around. So we dont know if this guy found his friends cause he kinda just walked away from us when we got to the festival.

Next, We stood in line to get into a tent and when we got in we realized you legit need to be at a table to order a drink, so we decided to go the outside area and it was actually so nice. We drank two beers talked with the people around us, had losts of fun and then decided to head back to the hostel later that night cause beer was cheaper and it was a blast the night before. Elle  had met up with some friends from her study abroad program so she was already back at the campsite when we got back. We had such a fun time. I met a girl who went to college with all these Fort Collins people i know and we were like how did we even figure this out. Then danced the night away as usual. Nothing too funny happened this night but still was super eventful.

When Elle and i woke up the next day we had to check out and by that time Sam, Annie, and Mandy were gone cause they had early flights. Elle had missed her return bus (again) so she booked another one for later, so we went into town to eat and explore a bit. We saw some cool buildings and got some pizza. I walk with Elle to the bus station and off she went. It was around 17:30 and my train back to Amsterdam wasnt until 00:00. So i had some time to kill, so i searched up places around me to check out but legit everything was closed because it was Sunday and i didnt want to keep walking around cause my bag was heavy. so i decided to go to the train station and just chill, watched some netflix, read a book, and then finally it was time for the train. It felt like i was waiting sooo long, well because i did  (7 hours). i was expecting to fall asleep on the train but i kept having to move seats cause some are like “reserved” but it was so confusing as to which ones were and it was just annoying so i didnt want to go to sleep and be in someones spot or miss the stop i had to get off at to switch to the next train. Anyways i arrived back at my house at 10:00, then had to work at 14:45 so i didnt sleep cause i was so nervous id sleep over the time i had to get BiBi and Veerle at school. so lol i was excited for my sleep last night.
